can i take a cd to walmart photo center? I saved some pics on a cd that i dont want anyone else to see. Can i take the cd to walmart photo center to be developed, or do they have to be on a usb card?
Cori replied: "I'm not sure if you can do it at the store, but you can upload them online at walmart.com and do it there. If it is less than 20 dollars you can pay for the pictures at the store. Anything more than that has to be paid for with a credit card."
Can I view pictures taken at Walmart photo studio before they are delivered? My daughter just got her pictures taken at the Walmart "PictureMe" photo studio on Friday. My mother in law is in town this weekend and I would love to be able to show her how beautiful they turned out. Is there anyway to view them online??? From what I have seen on the websites, It looks like just general information... am I missing anything? Is there a way to view them?? Thank you very much!!
honey replied: "I had my kids pictures done at walmart for christmas, At that time they didnt offer online picture ordering or viewing. You could call the store to see if you can go there to view the picutres. Just say you wanted to relook at the pictures and may want more or choose another picture...or tell the truth."
how long does it take to have a walmart photo poster created from a picture? I would like to get it done in a day. does anyone know?
Hf3Art&Photo replied: "go to Kinkos. They should be able to turn it around in 24hrs."
photoshop scrapbook prints at Walmart photo? Hi! I'm barely starting to learn scrapbooking in Photoshop Elements 7 and i would like to know if i can print my scrapbook pages that i created in a Photo Center like to ones they have on Walmart or Walgreens. That way i can save on ink and also because i don't think i can print 12x12 pages in my printer. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Samantha G replied: "Hello, I am a Creative Memories consultant. If you visit my website.
then in the bottom right hand corner click on photo center.
After you register for free and receive your 20 free 4X6 prints. Click on page prints at the top. Here you can upload your 12X12 pages and order them to be shipped to your home. The quality is amazing and they are a very good price. I hope this helps. If you have any questions please email me at."
Does the walmart photo center do personalized mousepads? And how long does it take to get them back?Just wondering because I want to get one for my mom for her birthday, but I'm afraid ordering one off a website wouldn't get back in time. Her birthday is in two weeks.
Does anybody know of any place or website that is quick ( and under $40)LOL!!!
that art girl replied: "I don't know if walmart does them but I like to use cafepress.com. The quality is awsome and the price isn't bad. I'm a pro artist and use them for all my gift printing!"
Can Walmart photo center fix this on my camera? The brand is Sanyo if that helps any and it was a birthday present from my parents, so please don't say "just go buy another one!" lol =)
The little knob that you push down on when you want to snap a picture came off. I tried to punch it back in, but it won't stay and won't take pics. Can Walmart fix this? The warranty is up on the camera, so if you know of any company that can do this (and that won't make me go broke) please let me know!! :)
Thank you!
digitalmagik replied: "Try Sanyo. Since they made the camera they will have qualified engineers to repair it. My guess is though, that it would be cheaper to just buy a new camera, which means you'll need to decide how much sentimental value is worth to you."
Steve L replied: "First off...would you really want anyone at Walmart to fix anything for you...I think not.
If Walmart sell the same Brand/Model of the Camera you have, I would suggest buying new one, and return the one that is broken (as long as the one that is broken still looks new, minus the fact that its broken). Most of the people that work at Walmart are too stupid to look closely at the items being returned. They may not give you cash back for returning the broken item, but you might get a gift card for the cash value. And a Walmart gift card is as good a cash
If you feel like this idea would be stealing, try a Ritz Camera shop to fix the camera. Another idea would be to contact Sanyo and check their cost to repair the camera."
Curious replied: "You need a camera store that offers repair services. Or, the manufacturer.
I'm assuming your WalMart Photo Center only sells cameras and maybe makes prints. I would never think of them for camera repair. Best Buy (Geek Squad) would come more to mind for repairs or service.
Ask for a repair quote BEFORE you have any work done. Depending on the price of your camera (you'd didn't say what model Sanyo, but I'm guessing it's a cheap one), it will indeed be better to buy a new camera then pay to repair a damaged one. Sometimes repaired cameras never work quite like they did in the 1st place. Anything over $50 will be too much to pay for repair."
is walmart photo center considered profesional? or at the mall or something?
could you use those pictures for a head shot?
and send them somewhere with a resume?
~ replied: "I've had good AND bad experience with Wal-Mart portrait studios. Ask the person taking the pictures how much experience they have. Also, you can review the pictures before you purchase them."
sa2 fan song replied: "No, No, and NO.
Go to a PROFESSIONAL that takes headshots. Yes, it is expensive, but well worth it. If you are just starting out, you may be able to get away with a Walmart picture. But eventually you will need a "real"head shott if you continue your career."
ELDORADO59 replied: "NO! Walmart photography and HEADSHOT photography are two different things! For each cheap actor, there are a 100 other actors seriously investing in their acting career. You NEED PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOT photographers. Photographers that specialize in headshots, not some model photographer that dabbles.
If you're in the NY/LA areas, go to http:.//reproductions.com. Find photographers that photograph people like you well ie. Skin tone, hair color, eye color, ethnicity, age range, physical structure, etc. Choose your top 5 and meet with ALL of them! You want to get their philosophies and their personalities. You certainly don't want to work with someone whose personality sucks for you.
-COLOR IS STANDARD!Black and white is OUTDATED. If you go to major markets like LA or NY with B/W headshots, you'll get laughed out. They will think you're lazy because you're not up to date.
-For commercial headshots, they want to see your smile and brighter colors. For theatrical (film/tv) they want a more serious/intense look and muted colors.
-It's important that your head and upper torso is clear so agents and casting directors can fairly judge you physically.
-8X10 is standard size. Anything bigger or smaller will be filed in the circular file cabinet(garbage can).
-You should ONLY have your name printed on the front below your photo. Left, center, or right is subjective.
-NEVER print your agency logo on the headshot UNLESS your agency is paying for it. What if you leave or the agency goes under and you printed a bunch with an agency logo? MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN!
-NOTHING should be printed on the back. You should have your resume (that has your email and CELL phone number printed on it) neatly cut to fit your 8X10 headshot and stapled to the back.
-Have either a white or black border surround your photo. The full bleed (no border) is outdated and tacky.
-NO GLOSSY. Get matte finish (non glossy). Glossy photos can get easily ruined by UV lights and can be difficult for someone to see when florescent lights reflect off of it.
-No busy patterns or jewelry that will take away from your face.
-With regards to looks, you DON'T want character shots ie. literally dressing like a cop, doctor, etc. NO PROPS EITHER! This is an insult to the casting directors and will get you laughed out of this business. You want 3-4 GENERAL LOOKS! For example, a business suit look can suggest FBI, detective, secretary, business person, etc. A casual look (jeans and t-shirt) can suggest high school, college, blue collar. An upscale j-crew/Banana Republic look can suggest young parent, preppy, white collar, etc.
Tell your photographer to avoid:
-Landscape cropping. When a landscape photo is posted online on LA Casting or Actors access, it's appears very tiny compared to a photo that was cropped portrait. CDs get submissions as really tiny thumbnails. They might miss your photo if it's smaller than the majority of photos that are cropped portrait.
-Chopping off the top of the head. When too much of your head is chopped off, it makes it a little difficult as to what your really look like. Cropping off a small part of the top of your head is forgivable, but not to the extent where you look like Hannibal Lecter or Sylar from Heroes' victims.
-Too close. Don't get it cropped too close to where people can't see your body. At least your upper torso should be visible in your shots so CDs/Agents have a fair idea of what you look like physically.
-Silly poses. Headshots are supposed to be as natural as rain. Making stupid poses will just make you look stupider. Such common poses include, but not limited to:
1. Sitting on the toilet. This is where you're sitting down but leaning forward.
2. My head is too heavy. Don't do a headshot where your hand is under your chin or even touching your head.
3. Look at me, I have a sexy back! I've seen some headshots where people are in contorted poses, looking over his or her shoulder. It's not natural.
4. I'm a mermaid! This is where you're laying on your stomach with your feet up.
5. Leading with my shoulder
6. I got sexy legs! This where you're sitting down and your knees are visible"
SLATEmanagementgroup replied: "Absolutely not. =) If your intention is to get a nice portraiture, then Walmart will do. A professional headshot should be taken with a trained eye...your not paying for a 'nice' photograph, you're paying for a visual resume/representation of you as an actor/actress. I suggest you save up some money and do some research for local headshot photographers. You can probably swing a sitting for <$200. Remember to see their portfolios and shoot with someone that has a unique style that catches your eyes...chances are if their photos catch your eyes, they're doing something right. I hope that helps"
How long does Walmart take to ship photo prints? I ordered 20 photo prints from walmart.com today with home delivery, standard shipping. When will I get my prints in the mail?
emotive53 replied: "It'll get there when it gets there."
David replied: "What that other guy said, just set you fat a$$ down and wait for da*n things to arrive. They have to receive you order, print you stupid a$$ pictures then mail them back"
How to Book a Photo Appointment at Walmart? I want to set up a appointment to get mine and my husbands photo taken before my baby is born at Walmart and i never have before....this may sound silly but what do i say to them when i call i dont want to sound stupid. thanks
jen a replied: "i would say pass on walmart and get it done right."
~Kiss~ replied: "Just call and say you want to make a photo appt.
Im not sure where you are, but our local Walmart photo center sucks, I have never had any pictures turn out nice and they messed up our package like 3 times. I will never go there again, but maybe that is just ours. I always use Sears now, they are more expensive but so worth it."
butterfly_beauty_4 replied: "They dont have to know who is going to be in the photo or why, just call and say you need an appointment, they will ask your name, phone number etc .. done deal. Besides, my husband and I went and got photos before our first baby, there is nothing stupid about it, ppl do it all the time.
But don't go to Wal-mart, I like Sears, but there are so many better places than Wal-mart."
Mommyof2plus1ontheway replied: "I use to work for both JC Penny Studios and Sears Studios. One thing you may not know is the studios in these places are owned by other companies. The Walmart studios are owned by the same company that owns the sears studios.
Honestly, since I have worked for 2 different companies, they do things differently. I would look online at the studios you are interested and then call them ask to speak to the manager or assistant manager let them know what you are looking for and ask any questions you have. Hopefully they will help make the right choice as to which studio to use.
One thing I like about Sears is they are a fully digital studio so if you take pregnancy pictures when your baby is born and you come for newborn pictures you can do some really cool collages and composit pictures.
All I have to say is do your research and make the best choice for you. No matter what you spend on the pictures, remember this will be a moment captured in time that will last a life time and beyond."
mommy2b24 replied: "Just call and tell them you want to set up an appointment for you and your husband, maybe ask about different packages they have, or better yet, check to see if you can find info online. here is the link to the photo center for Walmart, good luck!"
angelbaby replied: "You call up the portrait center and tell them you'd like to get portraits done. They usually ask me who's gonna be in the pics (me, or me and my daughter), and they will ask me my daughter's age. Then they take your name and make the appt. (let them know if you are looking for a specific day and/or time). Then you show up, pick out your portrait package, and pay. They take about 3 weeks for the pics to come in, then you go and pick them up."
patti replied: "call the photo place in walmart and tell them you want to book an appointment. they will help you figure out a time and day that you both have open, easy as that."
