obammy army replied: "well barca are the team to beat and i am not sure they can beat barca"

~ ky ~ replied: "what they aspire and what they can really get in reality is 2 different matters like how they always aspire to win the league, sadly its not happening anytime soon"

Michael P in NJ replied: "They're playing Real Madrid, who look rather vulnerable at the moment. Kiss their chances goodbye? Not in the upcoming round, I don't think."

. replied: "well, we are going to win the CL one way or the other. But premiership is our priority right now !"

ChavFanMan replied: "ahahaha a team thats been consistently knocked out at the round of 16 is saying were scared? We beat Barca at Nou Camp, Inter at San Siro Chelsea at the Bridge. We beat the "worlds best" Manchester glory hunter united now explain to me why we wont beat Madrid. Easy pickings i say, they have no spine"

The Magical Johan replied: "They just don't have that something which the top sides in Europe have."

Does anyone know any transfer news regarding Liverpool FC? I Obviously know about barry and ive also heard about Jakub Blaszczykowski and possibly Joe Cole but is there anyone else??? THANKS

Mj replied: "i guess not, they have had made a lot of transfers this season..like 8 players ..and out of the 8 i believe 5-6 players came on a free transfer... cole probably might join em next season if he fails to impress scolari. barry wont move to anfield this season, that's for sure...maybe the next season, if liverpool are still interested in him even then!"

Tanvir H replied: "i dont"

breaking News Liverpool new cash windfall sign striker to partner Torres.? Does this not show Liverpools intent to mount a serious challenge. biggest buyers now behind Manchester City. Good times ahead for the pool. Rafa knows what is needed to compete. Is this bigger than Torres or another Keane?>
Shadow Biker replied: "Liverpool are killing football!! Obviously i'm kidding, good on them, with the finish they had last season they are obviously addressing the problem of drawing so many matches which ultimately cost them the title. Two wins instead of 2 draws and the League would have been theirs. Having extra firepower should correct this."

smeg head replied: "get real!!"

munzt st replied: "4th or 5th next season at best."

I Live In Paradise replied: "another one of Rafa's brilliants signings how is that going to help there never ending drought at least he is cheap"

Black Jack replied: "I'm surprised that Wenger missed out on this one"

Ngo Liverpool replied: "16-year old? Not that my heart is not with the Reds, but I feel sorry for the kid! Yes! SORRY for the kid! Knowing the track record of Rafael, no kid from the academy or purchases have made it to the regular 1st team, let alone PARTNER Torres?! Read the news that both our Yankees Bosses are selling their American Football Teams to finance Liverpool! Are they converting to becoming English and finally come to their senses to see Sucess in Liverpool do need More Cash? YNWA"

sai k replied: "what happened to ryan babel.......... voronin robbie keane el zhar"

According to news from Liverpool, what English football club must the rest follow? >
stuxu2003 replied: "Manchester United"

SIR DAVE replied: "The Daily Post talking sense at last."

xenia passed igcses with success replied: "they are all going crazy.....delusional... what are they gonna say next fcuk liverpool???"

~ky M Utd~ replied: "well, obviously the rest must follow the champions. so they are just re-emphasizing something that everyone already knows"

Manchester United Fan 4Life replied: "Glory Glory Man United Glory Glory Man United"

skellybootle replied: "EVERTON -- INTO BANKRUPTCY? Stan Kelly member both LFC and EFC Fan Clubs (split family!)"

Is the Dubai deal collapse good or bad news for Liverpool Football Club ? Should the club have sealed the deal and not quivered over an alternative offer? Will they live to regret it,due to what the world's 5th wealthiest man may have had in store to enhance the club and the City ?

igi replied: "terrible"

deltagremlin replied: "with that part of the world in chaos, it wouldn't of taken much for it to hit the fan."

Mark J replied: "I think its possibly bad news one they have pished off a potential serious investor in favour of another party who may, or may not complete a deal in the short term LFC have been banking on new money to make new signings.. which hasnt been forthcoming if the Gilete deal comes off then no Liverpool havent lost anything.. but I dont think the Dubai deal will reappear. its sad but the future of LFC may have been sacrificed so that the moore family can rake in a few more millions.... Theres enough butty in the dubai dal for the family without having to hang out for that extra amount. I think the DIC proposal was pretty hardnosed commercial decision, noi doubt the gilete deal is similar te day of people buying a football club for the presitge (eg 60's & 70's owners of Sheppard at NUFC, or Walker at Blackburn are gone). The issue in my mind i how realistic is the Gilete deal.. how xclose it sit to fruition (bearing in mind the DIC deal was been talked about as virtually a done deal). If gilete buys then fine.. if he walks away then it may be disastorous to LFC. Mind you the Gilete deal may be better for Liverpool as a whole seeing as he is talking of having a ground sahre with Everton."

bekkstaar replied: "I think it's good news for football in general. Football has changed into a puppet show with rich men pulling all the strings."

naplio replied: "with that kind of money on offer, the board MUST know this offer from gillet is a better deal for the club. lets wait and see ?"

marky_fightthepower replied: "Terrible...Even if the Gilette deal goes through he still doesnt have anyway near the same amount of money that the dic have"

jamesy replied: "What Liverpool supporters need to realise is that this is an investment company - not someone hiding from the Russian Government - so they'll be looking to bring success, but not throwing money at the problem which is what Liverpool Football Club have done over the last 8 years, and is also why they are 80 million in debt. If i'm right, Benitez has spent nearly 90 million - and Houllier 130 million before that with no League title to show. It's better management they need, not more money."

Herman Munster replied: "It might be a blessing in disguise. I heard the Montreal Canadiens owner is in the running. That is a well-run hockey club. You definitely could do worse."

Small Pebble replied: "I'm not bothered that it fell through. Rafa has us heading in the right direction without a huge injection of cash."

bencat57 replied: "I think this is a real disaster for Liverpool . DIC showed they had the funds , the will and the foresight to support Liverpool and offer them a secure future with support for making them a real force in World football . They have a good record of only investing in Winners and giving their purchases financial support in order for them to compete on the world stage. Gillette on the other hand is not known to have any interest in football but has a track record of buying Sports franchises then taking out loans against the assets of the Franchise and paying himself a large portion of that as a dividend. It would seem that David Moores has seen the prospect of gaining an additional pay out for his shares and has decided that bigger profit for him is better than what is long term of value to LFC."

Bill H replied: "I cant say I'm disappointed that the DIC deal fell through (Id have misgivings with any deal involving that part of the world). However, I do think that an injection of cash is critical to the ongoing development of the club, both on and off the pitch. Its to be hoped that the Gillett deal goes through and proves to be as successful as all Liverpool fans hope. Fingers crossed."

In view of the news in the Liverpool Daily Post. Is Liverpool City Council fit for any purpose? Morrisee is displaying the well known Scouse humour . I hope Charen has obviously not seen Liverpool which has a great deal to offer in spite of it's Council

Morrissey replied: "Bring back Derek Hatton. Them were the days with Degsy and the boys!"

THE ONE AND ONLY !! replied: "I have to agree whole heartily with Morrissee...There where job`s ,house`s getting built ,repairs being done .... This council will have so many debts by the middle of next year and who will foot the bill !! for the so called city of culture (biggest farce ever ) THE PEOPLE OF LIVERPOOL.."

JESSIEBLUE replied: "they should be recycled, like my council"

The Scouser replied: "Hello Scouse. Back in the olden days there was no toilet paper. People would take the old newspapers upstairs or outside to the toilet/lav. They tore off a piece that they didn't like, crumbled it several times to make it soft and stuck their city council in a wipe mode where the sun didn't shine. This way they made the City Council fit for a purpose."

charterman replied: "I think the biggest joke has been played on Liverpool by making it " City of Culture". Anyone who has ever been there will know what run-down dump it is, run by an incompetent council that wastes money."

Breaking news: Fernando Torres says he wants to stay a red forever. How long is he gonna stay with Liverpool? LIVERPOOL striker Fernando Torres says he wants to stay at the club for the rest of his career - as long as they start winning trophies. Hes set to leave in the summer. (various)

3:04 replied: "he will stay if Liverpool will win trophies.. he will probably leave in 2009 or 2010.. ; )"

Ronaldo_Lee replied: "I dun tink he is going to leave so soon. At least at Liverpool, it's better than at Atletico. And if Liverpool continues to slack, which I tink so, I gues Torres is going to leave in 2 years to come."

The REAL Rahima replied: "I think he will stay a red forever cause our time has come. Liverpool will win trophies again."

15/04/89 JTL96/YNWA replied: "He will stay at the club as he loves it after Atheltico Madrid His Armband proved he is a read Torres Torres You'll Never Walk Alone it said Torres Torres We bought the lad from sunny Spain He Gets the ball and scores again Liverpools Number 9 Fernado Torres."

replied: "nah.. he's a good player and liverpool will boost up his potential so, for sure ill givehim.um 3 more yrs"

kitty kat replied: "maybe a season or two ,Liverpool have a strong chance of getting the champions league trophy"

Mohaiminho K replied: "i think he should stay for two years.....more two years i mean. Because you see, he is 23 and scored 30 goals in his debut season. The nest season, he might score a bit more(hope so). The nest one, he might be excellent, but he would probably score a bit less. So, when he sees that he is not scoring as many as he would like, he should leave. That would be good for him. I don't care about Liverpool. And he should probably stay even if Liverpool don't win anything for the next 2 yrs."

Jay@21 replied: "Torres is benefittting from playing alongside world class players and is scoring goals for fun at the moment..something he could never do when he was with Athletico.. He's in the Champions League semifinal for the 1st time and is enjoying his football so why not stay with Liverpool"

cumbrian traveller replied: "I guess he will leaving at the end of September then , thats when Liverpools season is normally over by"

Christopher Adams replied: "He is a class player so that will trigger interests from other clubs, including Barcelona,Real Madrid but I think he is dedicated to the club."
